Prepare Workspace

Follow the instructions below after giving the pressure cooker time to cool down.

Protective Gear

Before prepping your workspace, put on clean clothes, gloves, and a face mask. Spray your hands and gloves with 70% alcohol before touching anything or placing them in your still-air environment.

Clean and Add Materials

Follow the steps below:

• Spray a paper towel with 70% alcohol and wipe down your work area.
• Place the mason jars within the work area.
• Open the tweezers and the spoon, spray them with the alcohol, and place them within the work area on a square of aluminum foil.

Prepping the Scalpel

Remove the aluminum foil from the scalpel and add the blade. The blades are incredibly sharp, so take care to make sure you don't cut yourself.

Next, use a lighter to burn the blade for 5 to 10 seconds or until it turns red.

Note: If using a glovebox, do this outside of it

Next, let the blade cool down for a few seconds, then spray or wipe it down with 70% alcohol. Place the blade in your workspace on top of a piece of aluminum foil sprayed with 70% alcohol.

Let the Workspace Settle

Add your final remaining items, such as an alcohol spray bottle and paper towels, and let the area settle for at least 10 minutes before proceeding.
